Tornado Café Coffee Roasters is a small, artisanal specialty coffee roasting company based in Spain. Founded in 2006, they were one of the first specialty coffee roasters in the country. The company started out in a charming hostel with a specialty coffee shop in the historic center of Peñíscola. There, they roasted their Tornado Café coffee in small 2kg roasters, delighting customers who could watch the process unfold before their eyes. As demand grew, they moved to a larger facility in Granollers and built a custom 20kg roaster to keep up with their expanding customer base. Tornado Café takes great pride in their hands-on, artisanal approach to coffee roasting. They roast their beans in custom-built, manual roasters, guided by their senses of smell, sight, and over 12 years of experience. This allows them to coax out the maximum flavor and aroma from each batch of green coffee beans, as they understand the intricate chemical processes that occur during roasting. In addition to their own roasting operations, Tornado Café is an importer of high-end professional and home espresso machines from renowned brands like Kees van den Westen and ECM.
