They found each other in the illustrious city of Elektrostal. Back when they were just starting out, they couldn't have imagined the inspiration that coffee would bring to them. Since 2017, they have been roasting coffee independently for their own coffee shop and friends. Each roaster has their own vision and taste, and they are infinitely grateful to their guests who resonate with their values, reflected in a cup of coffee that feels close to home.
The experience gained in the quest for coffee for personal consumption enabled them to take a step toward a long-standing dream: their own production of freshly roasted coffee with delivery and a humorous name. Thus, the roastery "Рыжий, Море и Лоботрясы" (Redhead, Sea, and Oddities) was born. They advocate for a thoughtful and measured approach to their craft but approach themselves and the world with light irony and humor. Believing that the greatest follies in the world were done with a serious face, they think that significant accomplishments must be achieved with a smile!
Growing and harvesting high-quality coffee is an immense task not within everyone's grasp, including theirs, unfortunately. Yet, as roasters, they delve deep into all the processes coffee undergoes before reaching them and approach the work of farmers with profound respect. They find it crucial to know everything about each variety they work with, not just to roast the beans skillfully but also to establish a connection with that distant equatorial world.
They approach every aspect of working with coffee thoughtfully and attentively. Every detail matters to them because an excellent result is built from the details. Who will be their supplier? How will the coffee be stored and delivered? Which coffee varieties will they choose? How user-friendly and informative is their website?
Within their ranks are certified specialists from the Specialty Coffee Association and active Q Graders. They always seek opportunities to enhance their skills and rise above themselves. They consistently control the quality of their products and compare their results with the work of other roasters in Russia and around the world. They attentively listen to feedback and suggestions, adjusting their work accordingly.
