Populus Coffee, established in 2016 in Neukölln, Berlin, traces its roots back to Helsinki, Finland, where the concept took shape. Founded by Sari and Henrik Haavisto, Populus Coffee is a family venture deeply rooted in the founders' Finnish origins, where coffee is an integral part of their DNA, surrounded by the culture of filter coffee. In 2014, a pivotal journey to Guatemala and Honduras marked a transformative experience for Henrik, a former journalist. It unveiled the genuine beauty of specialty coffee—the camaraderie among individuals sharing a passion and working collaboratively toward a shared objective. This journey not only forged enduring partnerships for Populus Coffee but also inspired the name, symbolizing people.
