Mathieu Theis and Emi Fukahori, the co-founders of MAME, first crossed paths during coffee championships and instantly developed a shared passion for specialty coffee. This deep fascination led them to make a life-altering decision - leaving their corporate jobs behind and establishing MAME in Zurich, Switzerland in 2016. The name MAME, derived from the Japanese word for 'beans', holds a significant meaning for them; it symbolizes their unwavering commitment to the craft of coffee and their relentless pursuit of improvement.

Driven by their love for the industry, Mathieu and Emi actively participate in coffee competitions, recognizing them as invaluable opportunities to expand their knowledge and skills.
